A wonderful new addition to your plant book collections.
Written initially for Zimbali Coastal Estate residents, this book is for anyone interested in indigenous plants and the wildlife they support.
The large format, beautifully illustrated, soft cover book of 132 pages, starts with landscaping principles, before-and-after photos of Zimbali Coastal Estate scenes and a section on indigenous and exotic plants to avoid.
The plant profiles follow, one per page, of a selection of recommended colourful, lesser-known – some quite obscure – indigenous species that all have great survival value for the insects, birds, mammals and other creatures that we may be lucky enough to observe in our gardens.
Profiles include descriptions and growing conditions plus an ‘About the Plant’ section giving interesting information and Geoff’s anecdotal experiences of the species. At least three photographs per page show close-ups of the flowers, fruit and leaves as well as the massed effect or mature form. Also many stunning pictures of the birds and other wildlife found at Zimbali Coastal Resort.
